For its third collaboration with Galerie baudoin lebon, Coldefy presents the exhibition The space between, from the artist Elissa Marchal.
Thomas Coldefy and Isabel Van Haute emphasize the connection between art and architecture. For them, “both disciplines share the ability to stimulate the senses and convey complex ideas. Our architectural approach aims to blur the boundaries between these fields, not limiting ourselves to a simple physical framework, architecture creates a harmonious interaction between forms and ideas: the exhibition of the artists we welcome is part of this process”. In both art and architecture, space is a vital element—shaping perception and emotion.
Artists use pigments and colors to open horizons, creating depth on a flat surface. Architects sculpt space with form and light, guiding movement and mood. Whether on canvas or in structure, the sense of space transforms how we experience the world.
There’s an almost obvious link between the agency’s sensitive, balanced architectural projects and Elissa Marchal’s work. Here, the artist plays with illusion and the spatial invasion of color, taking advantage of the room to confront her different series and virtually insert herself into the architectural projects of the agency.
